Woman robbed in home invasion

A house on Sunset Avenue was burglarized early Wednesday when an intruder forced his way into the occupied home.

A 44-year-old woman was awakened shortly after midnight by the sound of someone forcing his way into the rear entrance of the home on the 600 block of Sunset Avenue. The intruder demanded money from the occupant, but she said she had no money. The intruder then stole her landline phone and purse, which contained her cell phone and car keys, left the residence and drove off in the victim’s 2017 Nissan Frontier. The victim had to flag down a passing motorist to report the incident.

The suspect is described as a black man with a dark complexion and no facial hair, about 5-foot, 9 or 5-foot 10 with a heavy build wearing jeans, a brown jacket and a black toboggan cap.
