Two men wounded in shooting

Two men were shot early Sunday morning in an apparent altercation at a home on Benvenue Road.

Cpl. Brad Summerlin of the Rocky Mount Police Department said the call came in to the station about 4:30 a.m. as a disorderly conduct call. However, before police could arrive at the home on the 2100 block of Benvenue Road, another call came in stating that shots had been fired at the scene.

Brian Markel Sessoms, 30, and Damian Roosevelt Taylor, 25, are listed on the incident report as victims of gunshot wounds, which Summerlin described as non-life threatening. Two handguns were recovered at the scene, according to the report.
