Rocky Mount police are investigating the late Friday night murder of a woman and the shooting of two men at Tarrytown Beach Bingo.
In a statement released Monday by the Rocky Mount Police Department, Cpl. Brad Summerlin said the call came into the police station about 11:44 p.m. Friday as an armed robbery and shooting with injury. Police responded to the location at 570 South Wesleyan Blvd. to find three victims who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Nesha Pitt, 33, received the worst injuries. Despite emergency efforts to sustain her life, she was pronounced dead at the scene, Summerlin said.
Two men also were shot during the incident. Thomas Thomas and Darryl Winfield, both 28, were airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Summerlin said the victims were not playing bingo at Tarrytown Beach Bingo at the time of shooting as the business was closing up. It is not known if they were customers there earlier in the evening.
Police are not releasing any suspect information at this time. Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1411, Twin County Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111 or Text-A-Tip (Text RMPOL) and a message to CRIMES (274637).
