Another week, another Friday without football.

The majority of prep football games across the Twin Counties scheduled for Friday have been postponed after damaging winds from Hurricane Michael knocked out power across the area on Thursday night.

Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools will be closed Friday, meaning after-school activities won’t happen. The football season had already been extended one week after Hurricane Florence induced a rash of postponements and cancellations.

That led to teams using the extra week to schedule some missed contests for Nov. 9, currently the final day of the prep football regular season.

That date remains open for Rocky Mount High, but the Warriors already have scheduled a game for Nov. 9.

Rocky Mount Academy still plans to host Southampton Academy at 7 p.m., coach Terrell Hudgins confirmed on Thursday night. Rocky Mount Prep coach Omar Jackson said Thursday night that no decision had been made for the Jaguars’ road game at Weldon.

Elsewhere, Tarboro’s road game against Pamlico County, the No. 5 team in 1-A, in Bayboro will be played tonight at 7 p.m.

Here’s the list of postponed games, as of Thursday night

Rocky Mount High at Wilson Hunt — rescheduled for Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Wilson

Southern Nash at Northern Nash — rescheduled for Nov. 9

SouthWest Edgecombe at Nash Central
