Nash County Recycles Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Nash County Courthouse parking lot at 234 W. Washington St. in Nashville.

The free  event invites residents from Nash and Edgecombe counties to gather their personal documents to be shredded along with items like old electronics and prescription medications. A Shred-It truck will be onsite to dispose of the items.

“Last year,we had over 350 residents participate in this event,” Keep America Beautiful Coordinator Stephanie Collins said. “We collected over 11,000 pounds of paper, over 10,000 pounds of electronics and more than 150 pounds of prescription medications. We hope to exceed those numbers this year.”

Nash County Recycles Day is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful of Nash and Edgecombe counties, Nash County and Shred-It of N.C.
