Ohio State transfer Antonio Williams, who joined the North Carolina football team earlier this year, was granted eligibility by the NCAA to play this upcoming season, Inside Carolina reported on Friday.
Williams, who is from New London, N.C., and had initially committed to UNC during his prep career before spurning them for Ohio State, was granted eligibility after the Tar Heels applied for a waiver to avoid having the running back sit out the year as a transfer. He has two years of eligibility left.
As a Buckeye last season, he scored three touchdowns in 12 games and rushed for a total of 290 yards on 57 carries.
